Freedom to Speak Up Guardian

This service is available to Hope House Surgery staff and workers and is not intended for patient enquiries, complaints, or feedback.

At Hope House Surgery, we are committed to fostering a culture where staff feel safe, supported, and empowered to raise concerns, share ideas, and speak up about issues that may affect patient care, staff wellbeing, or the working environment.

Our Freedom to Speak Up Guardian (FTSUG) provides an independent and confidential point of contact for staff who wish to raise concerns and feel unable to do so through normal management channels. The Guardian offers impartial advice, guidance, and support, helping to ensure that concerns are listened to and addressed appropriately without fear of disadvantage or reprisal.

This service is provided independently by BEMS (Bath and North East Somerset GP Federation).

The Freedom to Speak Up Guardian can be contacted confidentially at:

bswicb.bems.ftsug@nhs.net

Examples of concerns that may be raised include patient safety issues, quality of care concerns, bullying, harassment, discrimination, inappropriate behaviour, or any other matter that could impact patients, staff, or the organisation.

Patients wishing to raise a concern, provide feedback, or make a complaint should use the Practice’s complaints procedure and should not use the Freedom to Speak Up Guardian service.
