Do you want to Volunteer at the Local Vaccination Centre?

We are working with other local practices in our Primary Care Network to deliver the Covid 19 vaccination Programme from The Somer Centre in Midsomer Norton.

We sometimes only get a few days notice of our vaccine delivery and have to work fast to ensure we have enough staff to make it happen safely. The surgeries are providing doctors, nurses, and admin staff, but there are other important roles that are needed to ensure these clinics can run.

We see more than 650 patients a day at the vaccination centre, and it takes a large team to ensure this runs smoothly. Car park attendants, marshalls, and volunteers directing patients help ensure their experience is a good one! If you think you can help with this then you can sign up here to volunteer

Active Practice!

Hope House Surgery have signed up to be an ‘Active Practice’ as we are committed to helping patients and staff live more active lifestyles.

Exercise is proven to have many health and wellbeing benefits and research shows that regular physical activity can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke by as much as 35% and decrease the risk of early death by as much as 30%.

Throughout February the staff at Hope House were challenged to ‘Travel from Radstock to Ibiza’ by tracking their activity – all activity counts and can be converted into miles, so it doesn’t matter if you are a runner, walker, or prefer yoga and the gym. We only have a few days left, but it is looking like we smashed the target!

Look out for future challenges that may include patients too!
